NOT ALWAYS EASY TO BECOME AN ENTREPRENEUR…
Start Creation is an Emergence XL project that is carried out in collaboration with the Youth and Employment services of the municipality of Ixelles and with JobYourself.
Thanks to Start Creation, candidates are supported in their business project for 24 months and keep their unemployment or CPAS-OCMW benefits during this period.
Start Creation provides individual support to people who want to develop an entrepreneurial activity and also leads groups of first-time entrepreneurs within the programme. "They are not left without a safety net. In addition to being supervised by a coach, they retain their benefit rights for 24 months."
A MEANINGFUL ACTIVITY
Individuals are allowed to test their projects in a real-life situation and without risk.
"We give them advice on the different entrepreneurial aspects of their project," explains Nadine. "Over the weeks, I often observe candidates' transformation. Being the bearer of your project is really rewarding and gives meaning to what you do."
Nearly 75% of these candidate-entrepreneurs supervised by Start Creation create their own business or find a job. Many become web developers, graphic designers, photographers, consultants and so on.
"We focus on service activities and small businesses (catering, street vending, etc.)."
There is no miracle recipe, but motivation, commitment, open-mindedness and determination are already good driving forces behind a project.
